   Bulgarian Black Sea Coast
Bulgarian Black Sea Coast
Bulgaria's Black Sea coastline is varied and exciting. Fine beaches abound: the beaches of Varna, St. Constantine and Helen and Golden sands are covered with fine crystal-clear sand; Nessebar and Sunny Beach have sand that is golden in colour. Beaches slope down gradually into the sea and a swimmer must strike out at least 100 meters from the shore to reach really deep water. Because of this and because there are no tidal movements of any force, the Black Sea is ideally suitable for the swimmer. In the vacation months of July and August there is sunshine enough to bask for ten or eleven hours. At daytime the breeze blows from the sea to the shore and at night the direction is reversed. A glance at the map of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast will confirm how much have already been achieved to secure Bulgaria's place as a world-famous tourist centre............

Clima & temperature in Bulgaria

Bulgaria is situated in the moderate climatic zone. The country can be conditionally divided into two climatic zones. The StaraPlaninaMountain is considered the watershed between them. Winters are colder in Northern Bulgaria and much milder in the Southern part of the country. Winter temperatures vary between 0° and 7°C below zero. Very rarely temperatures may drop below 20°C below zero. Typical continental and changeable is the climate in spring. It is exceptionally favourable for the growth of fruit-bearing trees, for whose fruit Bulgaria has been renowned in Europe for centuries. Summer is hot and sweltering in Northern Bulgaria, especially along the DanubeRiver.
The climate in Southern Bulgaria is determined by the air-currents from the Mediterranean. Summer temperatures do not reach the extremes as in Dobroudzha and along the Danube and are usually moderate: about 28°-30°C. The highest readings are usually taken in the towns of Rousse and Silistra, sometimes reaching above 35°C. Autumns are mild and pleasant in Bulgaria. The multi-coloured for-ests in autumn add to the picturesque landscape. Autumn showers in principle are more frequent than in spring. May, October and November are the rainiest months.
